The 2026 Archbishop Thabo Makgoba Annual Lecture on Values-Based Leadership marks the fifth year of this collaborative event between the Faculty of Humanities and the Development Trust. It serves as a critical platform for academics, students, and the community to address modern leadership hurdles. This year's theme, "Reimagining Inclusive Economies and Institutions for a Just Society," focuses on how ethical leadership and women's economic empowerment can drive social justice and inclusive development.

The Seminar on Promoting Disaster Resilience in Business, hosted by Nelson Mandela University's Raymond Mhlaba Centre for Governance and Leadership in partnership with Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, the Eastern Cape Provincial Disaster Management Centre, and Old Mutual Foundation. The seminar aims to strengthen collaboration between government, academia, and the private sector in building disaster-resilient communities and businesses, aligning with the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR).
